Though commonly referred to as Tung O Ancient Trail, the route from Tung Chung to Tai O is not an official ancient trail [are there any such in Hong Kong?]; but has long been a route along nw Lantau. Watch carefully, and you can see where the route changes from recently surfaced paths and road to a more ancient style pathway.

Moluccan Megapode aka Moluccan Scrubfowl is globally Vulnerable to extinction. Eliza is a kewang, a sea and forest ranger, who has dedicated over four decades to protecting nature, including the megapodes nesting at a small beach by Haruku Village.

During passage of Tropical Storm Lionrock, which brought storm force winds to places including Cheung Chau, an island in southwest Hong Kong. Strongest gusts recorded were storm force; but here funnelled between buildings, may indeed have reached hurricane force. - next time, I'm gonna need a bigger umbrella. Or a stronger one anyway.

What is a good place to see the Pipits, Wagtails, Daurian Redstarts? I've gone on several hikes but haven't had much luck.
Usually pretty easy in hiking areas during winter... Pui O and Shui Hau fields among better sites; but also spots like Wu Kau Tang and more. Maybe once you start seeing, will come across them often!

Yes, since pipits and Daurian Redstarts are winter visitors [well, a few Richard's Pipits maybe nest on uplands]; most wagtails are passage migrants or winter birds too. @@steelshaper
And Upland Pipit is an uncommon resident of, well, uplands; and harder to find in recent years, probably as more bushes less open areas on top of Tai Mo Shan etc.

Yes, can take time; hard to say how long a route will take someone... For me, quite some time needed! Esp if stop for photos, birding

Just came back from my trip to north mollucas , I was very lucky that I saw some eagles in hiri island , local people said that those eagles are native of hiri island , and found dusky scrubfowl in dodola island of morotai , this bird is an endemic of north mollucas ..
cant wait go back once this pandemic is over
